Farflung – Daily Geography Puzzle
About game
Farflung is a daily geography game where you place pins on a world map to answer five timed questions. Several countries may match a clue, but finding a less obvious answer can earn a better rarity score. You have just 60 seconds per round.
How to Play
- Read the Clue: Find a country that fits the question.
- Place Your Pin: Click or tap the map, adjust your location, and submit your answer.
- Earn Points: Complete all five rounds and aim for a higher score.
Tips & Strategy
- Don’t just think of the regular countries. Easy answers are obvious, but if you find a more obscure country that fits the clue you might get a higher score.
- Provide specific facts. Do not assume a loose association but instead use terminology based on official languages, national symbols, or geographic features.
- Don't forget microstates. Some countries such as Luxembourg may fit some of the clues, but check that they are connected before you pick them.
- Zoom in before submitting. A pin slightly outside a small country's borders can ruin an otherwise correct guess.
- Keep an eye on the clock. Settle on a strong answer instead of wasting most of your 60 seconds searching for a perfect one.
Gameplay Experience
Farflung puts geography knowledge under pressure. You might know the right region but still need to check whether a country actually meets the clue. I'd start with the strongest match, then consider a rarer alternative if time allows. A clever guess is useful only when the facts support it.
Unlike Worldle, which asks you to identify a country from its outline, Farflung tests how well you connect geographic facts to open-ended questions. That's what makes each round a little trickier.
